DAVAO CITY—The youth sector of rural Compostela Valley province got a P24.9-million allocation from the Compostela Valley provincial government for its various needs in education and employment. The Provincial Development Council (PDC) was allotted P24.961 million for its 2017 operation, the province’s information office said.
The allocation is distributed to the Compostela Valley Scholar Program, with P17 million; Provincial Youth Development Council, with P1 million; Special Program for Employment of Students, P1 million; and sports development, P1 million. Music literacy also appeared as an item in the project funding, with P551,000, as well as for the general item on provincial youth welfare, with P4.41 million. The latter program would be placed under the Office of the Governor.
The funding came with the approval of the P1.5 billion Annual Investment Program (AIP) of the province, the information office said. It said the AIP budget approval was “the most important item to come out from the organization meeting of the PDC on July 27. The PDC was reconstituted through Executive Order 024-2016. The meeting was attended by all of the province’s 11 municipal mayors and the two Congressional representatives, Maricar Zamora and Ruwell Peter Gonzaga. Representatives of five accredited civil -society organizations also attended.
