THE largest television network in the country is embracing the digital space even tighter with the launch of its digital advertising scheme, which will hopefully translate to higher earnings by 2017.
Donald Lim, the chief digital officer of ABS-CBN Corp., said in an interview his company hopes the Digital Marketing Periodic Table of Elements, a table of digital solutions that optimizes the creation of digital campaigns for advertisers, would help his team increase revenues from the Web.
“We are hoping this will help our digital- advertising revenue grow by 50 percent next year,” he said, refusing to divulge how much the said business segment makes today.
Currently, though, the said business segment contributes a mere 1 percent to the total ad revenues of the broadcasting network. “Making a percentage point every year is good already. After all, TV and radio are still growing,” Lim said. He said he hopes that with the table of elements, the Philippines “can become a dominant digital market player” two years from now.
“We are very mobile. We are also very social,” he said. “So we are very optimistic that we can be a dominant digital-market player in two years.” The chemistry-inspired Digital Marketing Periodic Table of Elements is a guide on the available digital tools the entire Philippine marketing and advertising can use in creating powerful and effective brand stories.

The headline does not make sense at all for a business that does not contribute anything right now.
