Malacañang on Monday vowed to further boost consumer purchasing power and provide more benefits to state workers in the remaining nine months of President Aquino’s term.
Communications Secretary Herminio B. Coloma Jr., said the Palace was taking note of the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from September 8 to 14, which showed improved public approval of the Aquino administration’s efforts to improve the lives of “our Bosses—the Filipino people.”
Coloma cited steadfast support for “governments efforts to address key issues on upholding the rights of our OFW’s [overseas Filipino workers], promoting peace, curtailing crime, protecting our territorial rights and nurturing the environment.”
According to Coloma, “this shows that the government’s programs are now bearing fruit and that the public has felt the positive effects of the reforms that had been put in place in the last five years.”
He added that in the remaining months of the Aquino administration, “we shall intensify efforts in finding ways to improve the welfare of our public servants and strengthen the purchasing power of our consumers, especially those from the lower rungs of society, through our strengthened social welfare and safety net programs.”
The Palace official said the Aquino administration would also continue to work with all sectors to “ensure that the governance reforms will be made permanent and to bolster transparency and accountability in our public service institutions.”
