As the southwest monsoon brought heavy rains on Monday, major dams in Luzon increased their water levels on Tuesday, according to charts from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The state weather bureau noted that the Angat Dam has slightly gained, as its water level increased from 179.83 meters on Monday to 179.93 meters on Tuesday; however, it is still far from the normal high level of 210 meters. It is in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
The Ipo Dam, which is also in Bulacan, increased its water level to 100.49 meters on Tuesday, from 100.30 meters on Monday. It is nearing the normal high level of 101 meters.
Moreover, the La Mesa Dam slightly gained more water at 78.93 meters on Tuesday, from 78.91 meters on Monday, still far from its normal high water level of 80.15 meters.
Benguet-based Ambuklao Dam also elevated its water level from 741.03 meters on Monday to 741.27 meters on Tuesday. The dam has a normal high water level of 752 meters.
The Binga Dam, also in Benguet, also increased its water level from 570.79 meters on Monday to 570.96 meters on Tuesday. It is nearing its water high level of 575 meters.
The San Roque Dam increased its water level by 0.14 meters, from 230.18 meters on Monday to 230.32 meters on Tuesday. It is in Pangasinan and has a water level high of 280 meters.
Meanwhile, the Pantabangan, Magat and Caliraya dams have lower capacity from their levels on Monday.
