DESPITE the absence of network advertisements, nutrition business mogul Usana Health Sciences is positive of maintaining a double-digit growth in sales by the end of 2017.
Usana Philippines Field Development Director Lizbeth Jose said their sales increased by at least 10 percent in 2016.
“So we’d like to go over, or at least equalize that this year,” she said. “Right now we are gaining traction. Nag-i-improve naman ang aming weekly sales average.”
The company relies on brand ambassadors and athletes for product promotion. There are currently 3,000 athletes around the globe and 26 local elite athletes endorsing their brand.
“Why support them? We want to give them the best nutrients and we guarantee athletes our products have no harmful substances,” Field Development Supervisor Lerwin Onanad said. Some of the local athletes include Barangay Ginebra superstar LA Tenorio and Cignal HD Spikers volleybelle Rachel Anne Daquis.
Onanad said the prestige of their endorsers renders brand advertisements unnecessary.
He said, “We do not need to advertise. You are promoting Usana; you are the ambassador. You are Usana. Usana means we give life.”
Aside from supporting athletes, Usana also conducts feeding programs under its corporate social responsibility arm Usana True Health Foundation (THF).
THF also provided a six-month supply of Usanimals, the corporation’s premier vitamin product for children, apart from the weekly feeding sessions.
Last year Usana THF went to Kid’s Summer Camp in Parañaque to hold a feeding program and provide health education.
Usana also banks on associates who conduct direct selling to boost their company’s growth.
The nutrition business company incentivizes associates who achieve a certain number of sales. For next year, Usana eyes to bring top-performing associates to a trip to Madrid.
