USANA Philippines last Thursday said it aims to achieve a 10-percent growth in direct selling for 2017.
“I am quite optimistic of our prospects in 2017. It is only March and we got a big amount of time. Our direct-selling people are aggressive and entrepreneurial,” said Aurora Claudia Gaston, vice president in the Philippines and Indonesia, UHS Essentials Health Philippines in a news briefing held in Makati City.
Gaston said Usana in the Philippines wants to make a big impact in celebrating its eighth year this year as it posted P4 billion in direct sales in 2016, the fourth largest in the Usana global operations after China, the United States and Canada. She said it was a gigantic leap for the local office when it posted a total of P300 million in direct sales in 2009.
“In our ninth year, we want to keep the business growing. We’ve grown tremendously and we’re going for it aggressively,” Gaston said.
She said there is a lot of growth potential for Usana in children’s vitamins in the country. Adding the growing awareness of Filipinos in pursuing a healthy lifestyle is a major growth factor for the company.
Another is the quality of Usana products, she said. “Usana ensures it manufactures products that are well-researched and backed by reliable and accurate science,” she said.
During the briefing, Usana also relaunched its Usanimals for children ages 2 to 12 with a balanced formula that contains 23 essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to support healthy growth.
“Good growth encompasses all aspects in the development of children—from physical, physiological, intellectual, emotional and psychological. We are proud to say that that Usanimals by Usana can support the nutritional demands of growing children by providing the relevant and most comprehensive nutrients that result in improved overall health conditions,” said Gen Blasurca, corporate pharmacist of Usana.
