SINGAPOREAN online grocery and home goods store operator Honestbee Pte. Ltd. formally launched operations in the Philippines targeting students as part-time employees (PTEs).
“That’s another good thing that we are providing since we said we want to create jobs,” Honestbee Country Manager Crystal Gonzalez said on June 19.
The company is very flexible when it comes to giving schedules to employees, Gonzalez said. There is no minimum or maximum number of hours that they should work in, she added.
“We try to create job opportunities for people who are unable to pick up full-time jobs for example students,” Vice President, Corporate Strategy Varian Lim said.
Currently, Lim said there are a number of students are PTEs in Honestbee.
Honestbee operates its eponymous app that allows users to order food, buy groceries and do laundry. The app allows users to order food from a nearby restaurant. It charges a concierge fee of P99 for every delivery.
Lim said the company chose Metro Manila because of opportunities provided by traffic jams.
“Everything that we are doing, especially in the Philippines, is all about trying to give you more time so you can focus on what matters most,” Gonzalez said.
