Sharp Philippines Corp. announced on May 19 it will develop appliances with the millennials segment of consumers in mind.
“Sharp is quite aware that Millennials want appliances that bring convenience to their fast-paced and comfort-seeking lifestyle,” Sharp Philippines Marketing Manager Rosemary Hao told the BusinessMirror. “In response, Sharp will out devices in this category”.
Hao spoke after launching the company’s latest television unit that boasts of the highest resolution.
According to Hao, the demand for consumer products like Sharp’s comes as the disposable income “of Filipinos is getting higher”.
She said more Filipinos are now buying fully-automatic machines as compared before when they preferred a twin-tub.
“The response of the local market is quite encouraging,” she added.
Sharp Philippines Corp. was established in 1982 as a joint venture between Pilipinas Development Corp. and Japan’s Sharp Corp.
