SEAOIL Philippines Inc. broke ground on its first mega station that will rise along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx).
The 2-hectare property will be the first mega station to rise along SCTEx and will be operational by the end of the year, the company said in a news release. It will house some of the most popular fast-food establishments in the country, its statement added.
“This is one of our biggest projects this year, and it is very significant because the agreement features the convergence of 100-percent Filipino-owned companies,” Seaoil CEO Glenn Yu said during the groundbreaking ceremony. The oil firm has partnered with CityMall Commercial Centers Inc., the mall development arm of DoubleDragon Properties Corp., in putting up the mega station.
DoubleDragon is a joint venture between Injap Investments Inc., headed by its Chairman and Mang Inasal Philippines Inc. founder Edgar Sia II, and Honeystar Holdings Corp., headed by its Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong, who is also the founder and chairman of Jollibee Foods Corp.
Seaoil, meanwhile, now has over 400 stations and 11 depots in different parts of the country.
Its mega station is located midway from Baguio to Manila, targeting motorists coming from the north. It will be a full-service filling station with restaurants and convenience stores, Seaoil’s statement said.
