A BIGGER and more exciting Sea Fair Boat Show is expected for its second year at its new home—the SM by the Bay at the Mall of Asia—in December.
After its successful inaugural staging last year at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Bay Terminal, the Sea Fair Boat will be out to give watersport enthusiasts more exciting shows on December 5 and 6.
“We prepared a lot of exciting activities for our spectators. It’s an outdoor boat show experience at its new home,” Legworks Account Director Eymare Bacasmas Po told the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum on Tuesday at Shakey’s Malate.
The show will flaunt the return of last year’s boating activities, including a regatta and dragon-boat races. The 200-meter dragon-boat competition will be divided in three categories—open, women’ and mixed—while the regatta will feature races in Optimist Class A for experienced sailors and Mirror Dinghy Class B for competitors aged 13 and under.
The races will be conducted by the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation and Philippine Sailing Association, respectively.
The Sea Fair Poker Run will also highlight the two-day event, where the game of poker, and boat or yacht racing will have a crossover.
There also competitions in beach volleyball and beach tennis at the Sands by the Bay, Bacasmas added in the forum presented by San Miguel Corp., Shakey’s, Accel, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.
Bacasmas added that the marine and boat industry will be showcasing their equipment, gear, apparel and accessories in the fair.
