PTT Philippines Corp. (PTT) is all set to construct its mega service station, costing P121 million, along Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) seen to be completed in a year, the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) said. PTT held the groundbreaking for the first northbound SCTEx service area on Monday.
President and CEO Arnel Paciano D. Casanova said in a statement that PTT’s initial investment for the development of the service area is P121 million. It will involve the establishment, operation and maintenance of a gasoline station with amenities.
The amenities of the service area would include, among others, rest rooms, sufficient and adequate parking slots, emergency first-aid station, potable water and lighting system, emergency vehicle repair shop and convenience stores.
“PTT’s mega station will provide and assure motorists quality comfort and convenience. The service area is expected to be completed by May next year. Once completed, motorists can gas-up, rest and avail [themselves]of other services they need to travel,” Casanova said.
The 2-hectare PTT mega service area is in Barangay Santiago, Concepcion, Tarlac and at the Clark-bound/northbound direction of the Clark-Tarlac segment. It will be the only northbound service area that motorists can stop over after they exit the North Luzon Expressway and the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway.
PTT’s winning bid for the annual fixed lease starting on the fifth year amounted to P4,100,000 inclusive of 12-percent value-added tax, and subject to a 5-percent annual escalation.
The lease period for SCTEX Macangcung Service Area is 25 years and renewable for another twenty-five years.
