PRACTO Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a Web-based clinic management-software developer, announced last week it bought Bangalore-based Enlightiks Business Solutions (EBS) Pvt. Ltd. The latter is a provider of an advanced analytics platform that also offers business-intelligence (BI) solutions to health-care enterprises, a statement by Practo said.
“The acquisition further strengthens Practo’s industry leading portfolio in the healthcare enterprise segment and augments existing solutions that include appointment management and a full stack hospital information-management system (Hims) solution.
According to Practo founder and CEO Shashank ND, the purchase of EBS is the company’s fifth acquisition and third in the enterprise space.
“This brings Practo closer to its vision of simplifying health care by providing end-to-end solutions for the entire ecosystem,” Shashank said. “We will be able to help CXOs [chief experience officers] make their enterprises run more efficiently, which should improve the overall quality of care while making it more affordable.”
EBS’s main offering is a business intelligence and predictive analytics platform providing actionable insights using complex mathematical, statistical, computational and cognitive models. Called Querent, the platform can provide accurate predictions for key business metrics and help enterprises take actions proactively that can help make a positive impact on business decisions in the short to medium term, Practo’s statement said.
The platform has an ability to read both structured and unstructured information and apply advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques to uncover hidden insights. It uses natural language-generation technology to provide automated insights to the business user by analysing large volumes of information residing inside hospital information and other transactional systems.
The entire team of 50 people from EBS will be absorbed by Practo as the firm’s analytics business unit.
