SMART Enterprise Inc. (SEI), the wireless enterprise arm of Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Co., launched last week its machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions the company claims would cut costs on paper and people.
“This is the future. This is paperless,” said Marc Roxas, SEI head of trade marketing, at the launching ceremonies.
One of the application Roxas’s team launched and which targets small and medium enterprises (SME) in the service industry and medical field can track the sales trend, product movement and inventory of a company.
“[It’s] the real-time saver and money saver: You can say good-bye to your traditional pen and paper,” Roxas said.
The app copied the Facebook interface to track the company’s sales flow and inventory in real time, according to documents provided by SEI. It is also a customer relationship management tool wherein field and sales agent can have easy access to customer profiles.
The Web and mobile app called “Store Manager” also tracks in real time the performance of field workers. It also streamlines workflow queuing and scheduling of task to attend to customers.
Another app launched last week targets businesses in the pharmaceutical industry that allows medical representatives and doctors to communicate, as well as track the stock and sales of drugs.
“Living in this digital era, we encourage SMEs to move toward a mobile and digital vision,” Kat Abelarde, PLDT first vice president for SME Group, said.
