CANDABA, Pampanga—Gov. Lilia Pineda of Pampanga and Mayor Rene Maglanque of this town led the launching of the advocacy campaign “Alaga Ka para sa Maayos na Buhay,” or Alaga Ka program of the Department of Health and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) benefitting 12,561 indigent families in this town.
Maglanque thanked President Aquino and Pineda for bringing health-care program easier and at no cost to the people.
Pineda said Alaga Ka program would ensure that indigent members are made aware of how to avail themselves basic health services in government hospitals, rural health units and health centers
“You no longer have a reason not to visit your doctors because you have now your PhilHealth’s Member Data Record, which will ensure the no balance policy in government hospitals once you are admitted. I urge you to make use of these health benefits,” the governor told the beneficiaries.
She urged the beneficiaries to keep and take good care of the member data record as it will serve them as passport whenever they are admitted in hospitals.
She said that among the services under the Alaga Ka program are the provisions of micronutrient supplements, maternal and neonatal care package, and family planning, aside from treatment package for tuberculosis and free health-care services in public hospitals.
