I am grateful and very pleased to share that my wife, lawyer Patricia Bunye-Rojas, is one of the 14 awardees of PeopleAsia’s Women of Style & Substance 2016. She will be joining the rest of the awardees at the awarding ceremonies tonight, September 26. PeopleAsia’s Women of Style & Substance is on its 11th year of recognizing women who possess the unique combination of good looks and great accomplishments.
Bunye-Rojas is being recognized for her successes—including her achievements as an international lawyer and as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to become president of the global organization Licensing Executives Society International (Lesi). Lesi is an association of 33 national and regional member-societies made up of men and women who are interested in the transfer of technology, or licensing of intellectual-property rights.
Bunye-Rojas became active in the Asia-Pacific Committee before she became chairman of the same, leading it to become a solid group supported by strong personal relationships among its members. Her experiences as national society president and committee leader gave her the necessary advantages that proved helpful in her work on the Lesi Board, where she worked alongside international experts in the licensing community.
The other PeopleAsia Women of Style & Substance 2016 awardees are Jaclyn Jose, who is the Cannes 2016 Best Actress awardee for the film Ma’Rosa; Binibining Pilipinas International 2016 Kylie Versoza; Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2016 hopeful Maxine Medina; Rep. Geraldine Roman of the First District of Bataan, who is also the first transgender woman to win a seat in Congress; model Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, also the entrepreneur behind makeup brand Happy Skin; Rustan’s scion Katrina Tantoco-Lobregat; President and CEO of Titania wines Tita Trillo; travel columnist for the Philippine Star Christine Dayrit; Kaye Zorrilla-Gamboa, the director for operations for Right Goods Philippines (Wella Philippines); microfinancing businesswoman and philanthropist Sheree Chua; multiawarded jewelry designer Ann Ong; “beautypreneur” Nikki Tang, who is the CEO of DMark Corp. and DermAsia Corp.; and fashion designer Maureen Disini.
