OPPO Electronics Corp. announced this week the launch of its line of dual selfie camera phones: the F3 series.
In a statement, the Chinese electronics manufacturer said the series’ flagship phone called F3 Plus will debut on March 23 in the Philippines simultaneously in four other markets, including India, Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam. The Dongguan, Guangdong, China-headquartered firm said the F3 Plus sports a 16-megapixel (MP) main camera and an 8MP subcamera.
The launch comes a month after the International Data Corp. (IDC) said Oppo has become one of the leading vendors in the emerging Southeast Asia smartphone market in 2016. IDC said in February that Oppo, being half a decade old in Southeast Asia, accomplished this “by investing heavily in its marketing activities and incentivizing its resellers”.
Oppo “standardized its marketing approach across countries, mainly relying on local celebrities as brand ambassadors to promote itself as an ‘aspirational/trendy’ brand and targeting mainly the millennial crowd,” IDC said.
