THERE’S a new Sheriff in the UFC featherweight division and his name is Max Holloway. Holloway became the UFC’s newest champion by knocking out defending champion Jose Aldo in the third round.
Holloway won the title “on the road” as the fight was held in Aldo’s old stomping ground in Brazil. Aldo usually is pumped up and energized by the Brazilian faithful but that wasn’t the case as the 25 year old Holloway made sure he won the strap decisively.
In full contact sports, the only way the challenger can take the belt away from the champion is to not allow the fight to reach the judge’s scorecards by winning decisively.
Holloway’s length caused a lot of problems for Aldo. Aldo seems to have a problem with opponents who are long and athletic as was the case with Conor McGregor who knocked him out 15 seconds into their title fight.
Did we just see the changing of the guard? Is Aldo’s career snowballing into retirement? Is Holloway willing to give the now two time former champion a rematch?

THE Golden State Warriors went up 2-0 in their best of seven series for all the National Basketball Association marbles. They once again blasted the Cavaliers, 132-113. The Cavaliers don’t seem to have an answer for Kevin Durant who’s not Harrison Barnes.
Durant’s stat line of 33 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals underscores how important he is on both sides of the ball for the Warriors.
The Cavaliers clearly and obviously have no answer for Durant. James, Love and Irving aren’t exactly known for their defense. Nobody in their line-up can match up against the length, speed and athleticism that is KD. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this will be over in five games with Durant winning finals MVP honors.

CONOR MCGREGOR has signed on the dotted line for his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather, as usual, is taking his own sweet time. Does he really want this fight?
McGregor has been training like never before while he awaits Mayweather. All Mayweather has to do is sign. It ain’t rocket science Floyd, just sign and get it over with.
If you don’t then Manny Pacquiao will take the fight and take your place.
