Summer brings out the heat of the sun and what have you—these include, of course, skin breakouts, dryness of bodily parts, and irritation to sensitive skin.
While this mostly stop us from having to experience sun, surf and sea, there are a gazillion solution to these problems now. The usual lotions, creams, ointment, and the list goes on. But the truth of the matter is, nothing beats the good old-fashioned way of cleaning, clearing, and protecting the skin from free radicals.
And it pays to know the right product for the right skin type. Eau Thermale Avene is one product to address all skin types at any given weather.
Eau Thermale Avene originates from Avene; a small town in southern France, it is famous for its thermal spring water with healing capability. In 1736 in Avène, a horse, belonging to Marquis de Rocozels, was allowed to run free for fear of possible contagion as it had a severe skin rash. The animal drank the spring water emerging at a locality called Verdu, at the foot of the Black Mountain, overhanging the Orb; the horse rolled itself several times daily in a pond fed by this same spring. Shortly afterwards, the horse was seen to have recovered its shiny hair and was soon completely cured. The date of this surprising result is not exactly known but it was probably 1736. The name of the spring is Sainte Odile Spring.
The story of this cure, considered at the time to be miraculous, spread rapidly. Doctors in the surrounding regions advised their patients to use warm Avène thermal spring water for their skin disorders in the thermal establishment founded in 1743.
The fame of Avène thermal spring water largely crossed the French frontiers as Avène spring water was successfully used to-treat the wounds of victims of third degree burns after the 1871 Chicago fire.
For the past three hundred years, this thermal spring water has been used to provide treatment to various skin conditions that includes wounds from burns during the great Chicago fire in 1871. Eau Thermale Avene facial care products are now available in the Philippines. It has products for the old-fashioned regimen that will never be outdated.
And for this very hot weather, here are some tips to keep your skin supple, smooth and healthy.
Cleanse
It has always been a practice to wash the face and neck with water and soap. Twice daily we follow this whenever possible to free our face from dust dirt and other pollutants.
Tone
After a good wash, it is best to clear skin of excess oil and or make up that soap and water can’t remove. Toning shrinks pores and increases ph levels—our skin is naturally acidic, normally with a pH balance of between five and six. After cleansing, due to the alkaline nature of soap, the pH balance of skin gets disturbed. When this happens your skin needs to work overtime to restore the balance (and that may result in oil), but using a toner helps to restore this balance quickly.
Toning also adds a layer of protection to skin, because it helps close or shrink the pores it helps in tightening the cell gaps after cleansing, thus, reducing the penetration of impurities and environmental contaminants into the skin. It can even protect and remove chlorines and minerals present in tap water.
Moisturize
Both men and women can find many benefits to using high-quality facial moisturizer each day. Moisturizing your face will help you to look and feel younger, you will have softer, more elastic skin, and it will keep your skin hydrated. All of these things are important if you want to look as young as you can in the years to come.
You should only be using a moisturizer that is specifically made for the face and should only use one that contains SPF 15 sunscreen or higher. There are moisturizers out there made for both men and women with different formulas, too.
In order to get into the habit of moisturizing, it is suggested that you do it at the same time every day, such as after you shower, or after you shave. These are ideal times to use moisturizer as your skin will still be wet. This moisture will help pull the lotion in more easily.
Protect
Sunblock sunblock sunblock the holy rule in anti-aging! All dermatologists would tell you this readily. Just why is putting on sunblock very important?
Skin cancer rates are on the rise and sunscreen has been proven to decrease the development of skin cancer. The ozone layer is thinning and sunscreen is the best shield we have especially in getting the “C.”
It helps to prevent facial brown spots and skin discolorations. Pinays are particularly enamored by faired skin, staying under the sun and getting a little tan can be very unattractive. Exposure to the sun creates dark spots that are hard to remove and have to be treated repetitively and it is expensive. It also helps to reduce the appearance of facial red veins and blotchiness. It slows down the development of wrinkled, premature aging skin. So invest in high quality facial skin-care products like Eau Thermale Avene, these products are worth the money and the effort using them. After all you get what you pay for.
