CONSTRUCTION firm Datem Inc. announced recently it would continue with its plan to expand into other industries, while sticking to its core business.
“Our strategy now is to take advantage of our strong market position and capitalize not only on the growth potential in the construction industry, but also in related sectors,” Datem President Levy V. Espiritu said in a statement.
Levy said the 31-year-old company plans to go into bulk water-treatment services, hydroelectric power generation and mining.
These investments, according to him, would “capitalize on domestic market opportunities.”
The privately held firm said in its recent report it had a net income, gross revenue and net sales of P771 million, P6.075 million and P6.070 million, respectively, for the full year 2013.
Its total assets, likewise, stood at a total of P4.912 million, up 34.4 percent from the previous year.
The company is the developer of a mid-rise condominium in East Ortigas and the Discovery Shores in Boracay. Datem built its first low-cost housing project in San Pedro, Laguna in 1984. The company is also the builder of the Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City.
Its recent project is a 2.3-hectare residential development at the flourishing Ortigas Avenue Extension in Cainta, Rizal.
More projects in the pipeline are Megaworld’s Uptown Ritz, Uptown Parksuites and a luxury residential tower in Makati City, Espiritu said.
