Manulife Philippines and BDO Insurance Brokers Inc. (BDOI) have partnered to make prepaid life-insurance products available in SM Malls.
Manulife and BDOI recently signed an agreement to distribute life-insurance products, such as the Kasambahay Plan and Pinoy Protect, designed for Filipino workers, household helps or blue-collar workers.
These life-insurance plans are available at each SM Bills Payment Counters in selected SM Malls.
Manulife Philippines President and CEO Ryan Charland said the partnership with BDOI enables them to help more Filipinos secure their families’ future by making insurance more readily available.
“At Manulife, we recognize that Filipinos value building a secure future for their families,” he said.
BDO Insurance General Manager Tracy Tan said availing yourself of insurance cover now becomes as easy as paying your bills at SM payment counters.
“BDOI is pleased to make the Kasambahay Plan and Pinoy Protect available through the SM Bills Payment Counter at selected SM Malls. This allows us to broaden the range of value-added services that we deliver to our customers,” Tan said.
The Kasambahay Plan and Pinoy Protect products are annual renewable insurance plans providing coverage for accidental death and dismemberment, death, total permanent disability and burial. It promotes responsible household employment by encouraging employers to include life insurance as one of the benefits of their household help.
At P285 premium per year for the Kasambahay Plan and P600 per year for Pinoy Protect, insurance coverage is now within anyone’s reach.
Through the Kasambahay Plan, Manulife delivers protection to household help for less than P1 per day, or an annual premium of either P285, P410 or P660.
Plan 660 will provide coverage worth P200,000 for accidental death and dismemberment, P40,000 for death, P20,000 for total and permanent disability and P20,000 for burial benefit.
Pinoy Protect insurance provides workers across income levels with the opportunity to avail themselves of insurance policies for less than P2 per day, or annual premium of either P600, P1,000 or P1,500.
Plan P1,500 will provide coverage worth P500,000 for accidental death and dismemberment, P30,000 for death, P75,000 for total and permanent disability, and P30,000 for burial benefit.
Interested customers may now purchase the Kasambahay Plan and Pinoy Protect at the SM Bills Payment Counters in SM Mall of Asia, SM Makati, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa and SM Fairview.
