ELECTRONIC consumer goods distributor Activate Technology Solutions (ATS) is aiming to kickstart a new trend in listening to music through the launch of its Tangram Silent Event Headphones which promises “maximum audio experience with minimal noise.”
ATS, a new company formed in 2013, is set to launch this first quarter the Rave model of the Tangram Silent Event Headphones. The company said it is targeting the events industry.
The company said it was inspired by the “silent disco” phenomenon in Europe and the United States which have noise-curfews impositions.
ATS eyes to introduce the same concept in social events in the Philippines through its pilot product, and hopes the market to respond well even with the absence of local regulations on noise control.
“We’re trying to make a niche in the silent-events field, it’s a relatively new market but we want to create the demand for it, considering noise pollution is a big thing that everyone complains about in the Philippines,” said Raphael “Raffy” Chuchip, CEO of ATS.
The Tangram Silent Event Headphones will be offered in two other variants aside from the Rave model: the Tangram Focus and the Tangram Classic.
ATS said the Rave model is for the younger party-going crowd in clubs, resorts and events places, while the Focus is well suited for corporate events that need simultaneous translations. Its Tangram Classic is a standard model that can be paired with audio-visual devices for home use.
Chuchip said the anti-noise feature of ATS headphones makes it suitable for the events industry.
Tangram Silent Event Headphones is imported by ATS from its US-based supplier, Party Headphones, a start-up in New York.
Party Headphones partnered with Australian electronics company, Silent Safaris, to form Wireless Audio Solutions Inc. Llc., the entity distributing the headphones in the US.
A dual-channel transmitter with the coverage of over 500 meters comes with the headphones, which the company offers in sets of three, six and 10. The three-headphone set sells for P13,500; the six-headphone set, P22,500; and the 10-headphone set P34,500.
Chuchip said ATS hopes to widen their distribution network so it could expand sales, though the company expects growth to initially come from the lease of the products. The company has signed Cardinal Audio as a reseller.
“People want to test it first and we’re open to leasing it to events companies, clubs, resorts and hotels but eventually of course we want to sell for commercial use,” he said.
