Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor are doing one helluva job promoting their upcoming fight generating a lot of hype and anticipation.
Their tours in Los Angeles, Brooklyn and London was a mixture of humor and lots, and I mean lots of trash talking, profanity and vulgarity.
Is MMA slowly coming out of boxing’ s shadow? After the circus that is the fight between Mayweather and McGregor, now you have the grudge fight between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
As compared to Mayweather-McGregor, these two just do not like each other. It’s personal between these two. Jones is looking to retake what he thinks is his while Cormier wants to show the whole world that he can overcome height and reach disadvantage to defend the title that Jones lost only because he got careless in New Mexico.

SPEAKING of no longer living in the shadow of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving demanded from Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert that he be traded. Irving chose the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and the New York Knicks.
What is his reason for wanting to leave? To get out of James’s shadow? According to reports, Irving “wants to be the focal point of the offense.” He can be that with the Knicks and Heat. Not with the Spurs and Wolves.
Gregg Popovich believes in ball movement and player movement which doesn’t make Irving the focal point when you’re trying to score.
Tom Thibodeau of the Timberwolves has Karl Anthony-Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Jimmy Butler so fall in line Kyrie.
Derrick Rose is reportedly in serious talks to join Cleveland, he’s young and a former Most Valuable Player, averaged almost 19 points a game last season but he doesn’t have Kyrie’s handles.
If the Cavaliers can get Anthony and Rose then they have themselves a big four composed of James, Anthony, Love and Rose. Will it be enough to get them back to the finals?
Knicks will have the young duo of Porzingis and Irving and a lot of pick and rolls which is a staple in Jeff Hornacek’s offense.
By Irving leaving, Lebron James gets a taste of his own “I’m taking my talents to…” medicine. How many times has James left teams out in the cold? Karma is best served cold.
