PROPERTY portal Lamudi Philippines is bullish on the prospects of virtual-reality (VR) technology in the country, especially in the property sector.
“This revolutionary upgrade in real-estate buying is likely to open up the market to international buyers and can make homebuying a faster and more efficient process,” said Jacqueline van den Ende, founder and CEO of Lamudi Philippines and MyProperty.ph in a media briefing held recently in Makati City. In order to bring more awareness on the benefits of VR, Lamudi held the country’s first-ever Virtual Reality Real Estate Expo (VR Expo) on September 3 and 4 at the Bonifacio High Street Activity Center for the public.
Just like other sectors in the country, van den Ende said VR is set to introduce changes in the real-estate market, as many VR equipment, such as VR goggles, were launched in the local market. Moreover, van den Ende noted that VR will be a great enabler for people who want to invest in real estate in the future.
Aside from helping investors in promoting their projects, VR also heavily influences the buying process. With the availability of VR, van den Ende said homebuyers nowadays will be able to view the property they are interested in even while they are on the move or from their own homes. “Today’s buyers want more than photos, so through virtualization, they can now experience their prospective home in a 360-degree environment wherever they are,” she added.
She said buyers now have the option not to fully immerse in visiting actual sites to see the property. A high-quality and fully interactive image in today’s world is a time and money saver, especially in real estate. “With VR, buyers were able to experience what it is like to be in the property for sale. Armed only with a pair of VR goggles, investors could view properties and make investment decisions from the comfort of their own homes,” the company said. The VR Expo was open to all buyers, sellers, renters, landlords, brokers, investors and everyone who wanted to experience cutting-edge technology applied to one of the most bustling sectors in the Philippines.
The guests were able to virtualize their dream homes, as well as interior, through the VR goggles at the activity center. The major sponsors of the event were Robinsons Communities, Right Homes and SM. The exhibitors include New San Jose Builders, Hamilo Coast and Union Bank, while the event’s official provider of VR goggles was VRLABPH.
