RECENT study by Amdocs Ltd. reveal that CEOs in the Asia-Pacific (Aspac) region whom the company polled would have investment in cloud services as top of mind.
The finding is part of a survey that found senior service provider executives believe industry CEOs must change management styles to remain successful in 2020. The company said the polled exectives see the CEOs of 2020 as the chief innovator.
According to Amdocs, majority of the Aspac executives who took part in the survey (67 percent) believe Apac CEOs in 2020 should be driven by a passion for innovation and would provide the most value to the organization through good corporate governance (first) followed immediately by innovation (second).
Professional services is seen to help bridge 2020 innovation gaps, Amdocs said in a statement on its findings.
According to Amdocs, the study revealed Aspac CEOs in 2020 rated investment in customer experience and big data analytics as, respectively, the second and third most important innovation decisions to undertake. The survey indicates Aspac executives are considering a blended approach of both outsourcing and insourcing to drive these changes by 2020. More than half of those polled are expected to outsource at least some support for cloud services (67 percent); big data analytics (56 percent); and digital services (56 percent).
“Future telecommunications innovation in the region will be delivered through a team effort, rather than by individuals, and CEOs will be expected to play a critical role by assuming a collaborative leadership style and by creating organizational structures that stimulate innovation,” said Teresa Cottam of Telesperience, the consultancy firm that led the research.
“At the same time, CEOs will have to keep a careful eye on profit and loss. Our research shows executives in Aspac see outsourcing as a good way of supporting emerging lines of business, overcoming any barriers to rapid execution of their innovation strategies, as well as enabling innovation at a predictable cost profile,” Cottam, Telesperience founder, was quoted in the statement as saying.
