US hits Islamic State in Iraq in its first strike

WASHINGTON—The United States bombed an Islamic State (IS) position southwest of Baghdad on Monday in what the US Central Command said was the first air strike undertaken under expanded rules of engagement President Barack Obama outlined in a speech last week.
