MONROVIA, Liberia—Liberia’s president declared a curfew and ordered security forces to quarantine a slum home to at least 50,000 people late on Tuesday, as the West African country battled to stop the spread of Ebola in the capital.

Missouri governor won’t seek removal of county prosecutor

FERGUSON, Missouri—Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said on Tuesday that he would not seek the removal of the county prosecutor overseeing the investigation into the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black 18-year-old by a white police officer, which has sparked more than a week of nightly clashes between protesters and police.
