Ibon: DAP spending belies Aquino claim of ‘urgent response for urgent problems’

Research group Ibon on Friday  said the Aquino administration’s description of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) as “urgent response for urgent problems” is misleading, saying the funds were not used to spur economic activities or address the most pressing problems.

US, Asean business alliance helps SMEs gain wider market access

The United States government, through the US-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Business Alliance for Competitive Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), has extended its assistance to Asean SMEs to enable them to gain wider access to markets through a workshop conducted on Thursday in partnership with the Philippine government and local businesses.

PhilHealth payments rose 41 percent in H1

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) is expecting its total benefit payments to reach P36.85 billion for the first semester of 2014, representing a 41-percent increase compared to the P26.19 billion it paid for the same period last year.
