The automotive industry

BEFORE I start writing about the Asean automotive industry’s challenges and opportunities again, allow me to state that I am amazed to see that the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry is convinced that the Philippines is ready for the Asean economic integration, while the Japanese Chamber is saying that automotive companies may consider relocating their Philippines operations to neighboring countries if the Philippines government is unable to issue the much-awaited road map that will outline the strategic direction, policies and new incentives needed to make the automotive industry in the Philippines more competitive.
