ASIDE from being known as a provider of quality-mobile phones, Chinese technology Huawei Technologies Inc. wants to make a footprint in the lifestyle horizon when it recently rolled out two Internet of sThings (IoT) devices.
Last December 11 Huawei and Google joined hands to introduce the Nexus 6P, which is aimed to boost the Android operating system for mobile devices.
“Huawei has been looking forward to working with Google to deliver the most premium Nexus experience to the Philippine market,” Huawei Senior Marketing Manager Corinne R. Bacani said.
“We value the way consumers embrace mobile technology in all parts of their lives and have created a smartphone with great design, performance and seamless integration of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest Android release,” Bacani said. “The Nexus has always been one of the most anticipated smartphones every year and Huawei is very proud to further our relationship with Google and put our mark of premium elegance on the Huawei Nexus 6P.” In her presentation, Bacani said the Nexus 6P features an elegant all-metal unibody. Crafted from aeronautical-grade anodized aluminium with diamond chamfers encircling its edges, she mentioned the sculpted back of the phone accents the low-light-loving, fast-movement-capturing camera.
Bacani said the Nexus 6P has a strong-computing power courtesy of its octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, 3 gigabytes of random access memory and Adreno 430 graphics. The device is powered by a 3450mAh battery.
The Nexus 6P is also a device for gamers, according to Bacani. It features a 5.7” WQHD 518ppi Amoled display ideal for playing games, watching movies and getting work done in stunning clarity, and front-facing stereo speakers for crisp, clear sound.
Bacani said the Nexus 6P is great for outdoor photography because its 1.55um pixels capture more light even in the dimmest conditions to produce stunning details and sharp images. Nexus 6P is also capable of recording 4K and high-frame-rate slow-motion videos. With a faster Google Camera app complemented by a smart Google Photos app, Bacani said storing photos is made easier. The 8MP front-facing camera utilizes Google’s innovative HDR+ technology, making it one of the best selfie cameras in the market.
Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Bacani said the Nexus 6P is being given a refreshed interface, performance improvements and increased Google Now integration and other new features.
Also, last year Huawei launched its smartwatch which projects to be an alternative choice to the pricier Swiss-made watches.
Charles Wu, country manager of Huawei’s business group, said the Huawei watch will create raves because it is the first watch that truly bridges the gap between fashion and technology.
“As part of our expanding line of premium wearable products, the Huawei Watch was designed and created to enhance and be part of the consumer’s everyday lives. It is our response to consumers’ requests who are looking for a smartwatch that combines timeless design and truly usable features,” Wu said.
In his presentation, Huawei Business Head of Tablets, Mobile Broadband and Wearables Arturo Carandang Jr. said the circular watch features a 1.4-inch touch-sensitive Amoled display, scratch-proof sapphire-crystal lens, cold-forged stainless-steel frame, and comes with a built-in heart-rate monitor and 6-Axis motion sensors.
Carandang said the smartwatch is “Swiss-inspired” design which was done by meticulous planning by its designers.
Made of more than 130 components, Carandang said the Huawei Watch has all the traditional elements of a classic watch, including a crown, frame and hinge built from high-quality and scratch resistant cold-forged stainless steel making it 40 percent harder.
