SUBIC BAY FREE PORT—Business establishments in Subic Bay could earn as much as P100 million next week when the four-day 21st Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) unfolds at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center. The convention, billed as the biggest event in the advertising industry this year, is expected to draw in some 3,500 delegates and more than twice the number of other visitors from November 18 to 21. |

SUBIC BAY FREE PORT—The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) recently approved 44 new investment projects in this free port, with total committed investments worth $20.45 million The new batch of approvals, said SBMA Administrator Armand Arreza, “signify the unfailing determination of the SBMA to generate more investments and create more jobs despite the global economic slowdown.” |

DAVAO CITY—The One Network Bank (ONB) would test the point-of-sale (POS) terminals in a northern outskirts here, in one of the innovations of the bank to unclog the branches’ counters of long queues for water, light and phone bill payments. Alex Buenaventura, president of ONB, said the POS terminal system would be tested first on three services: debit for purchase, where card holders would purchase items debited to their account; utility-bills payment, for water, power and phone; and tellering, where large accounts would be diverted to a VIP lounge serviced by a teller or bank employee. |
