Radisson Blu Cebu is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Lyle Lewis as the Hotel’s new General Manager and Vice President – Philippines and Japan, Carlson Hotels. Mr. Lewis’ most recent stint prior to joining Radisson Blu Cebu was at the property’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai, China where he served as the concomitant Executive Vice President - Operations, Carlson Hotels Asia-Pacific and Area Vice President – China, Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific wherein he led the growth and enhanced the operational performance of 10 existing Hotels and on-going development of 11 Hotels which include the Radisson and the Park Plaza brands in the Asia-Pacific region.
In his new role, Mr. Lewis focuses on strengthening Radisson Blu Cebu’s strategic positioning as the first Radisson Blu brand in Asia-Pacific. Radisson Blu is the premier brand of the Carlson Group, one of the world's leading hotel companies with 1,068 hotels operating in 77 countries. Mr. Lewis is geared to introduce exciting new innovations and key differentiations for delivering the Hotel’s characteristic “Yes I Can” service philosophy in a vibrant, contemporary and engaging hospitality environment.
An Australian national, Mr. Lewis is a seasoned hotelier with more than three decades of extensive operational and hotel management experience through his varied international postings under the Carlson Group. He was previously the VP for Operations of Carlson Hotels Asia-Pacific in its Singapore office on the heels of his posting as the Managing Director for the Radisson Plaza Xing Guo Hotel, Shanghai, China.
Prior to his venture in the Asia-Pacific, Mr. Lewis was the head honcho of well-renowned Carlson Hotels in Australia. He was the General Manager of Radisson Plaza Hotel at the Pier, Cairns, Australia and Area Manager of five other Radisson properties in Queensland; and formerly the General Manager and Director of Operations of the Radisson Resort Gold Coast, Australia and Resorts of Port Douglas, Australia.
Earlier in his career, he was part of the Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Australia where he risen from being the Director of Sales and Marketing to Rooms Divisions Head until his promotion to the General Manager position which he held in three Sheraton properties in succession.
Mr. Lewis takes over the helm of Mr. Grant Gaskin who was responsible for the Radisson Blu Cebu’s pre-opening and massively successful launch. Mr. Gaskin moves forward to another prime Carlson Hotel in Wuxi, China.
The appointment of Mr. Lewis and the redeployment of Mr. Gaskin Lewis’ is aligned with Carlson Hotels’ Ambition 2015 growth strategy to increase its global portfolio with strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
