SPYDER’S ‘GEAR UP FOR ADVENTURE’
More than just being the perfect gear provider for sports activities, Spyder reached out to enthusiasts and encouraged everyone to participate in outdoor sports at the SM North Edsa The Block from June 27 to July 3 called ‘‘Spyder gear up for adventure’’ that showcased motorcycles, bicycles and other outdoor equipment. Adventure seekers of all ages were able to view-up close several two-wheeled thrill machines, had a free discussion with motorcycling, cycling and running authorities, and had the chance to trade-in their old gear for newer ones.
“Spyder’s Refresh Your Gear” promotion allowed sports fanatics to trade in any old motorcycle or cycling helmets and sporting or prescription eyewear to receive a 20-percent discount on their new purchase.
Six exciting motorcycles that went on display were a rare BMW Boxer Cup Replica 1100R, the 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250 entry-level sports bike, the SYM GTS 300i Evo Maxi-Scooter, the Suzuki GSXR 1000 Super Sports Bike, and the highly collectible PX200 and the GS150 Vespa Scooters.
Seven different types of bicycles were also presented, such as the Vellum Fueza road bike, the Vellum Uno triathlon bike, the Hero Tradeway Marley beach cruiser and a Dahon Mu P8 folding bike. The three mountain bikes that completed the collection were the All Terra Trail Head, Vellum MTB and the GT White; an entry level, a racing hard tail, and a full suspension trail bike, respectively.
Both professional and novice sports enthusiasts gained in a detailed discussion of Motorcycling Safety Riding by Mel Aquino of Suzuki Philippines Inc., a thorough Cycling 101 class was presented by Edmund Mangaser of All Terra Cyclery, and a Running 101 clinic conducted by one of the country’s premier sports coach, Miguel Lopez.
To commemorate father’s day, July 3rd Sunday’s activities were also participated by Motorcycle magazine’s awarding of their Daddy & Me Photo Contest, where top three winners Julius Manuel, Shyrrel Rose Cruzado and Nelson Alcantara brought home their rewards from Spyder.
Premium items from Spyder and the various sponsors like Shell Advance, SYM, Kawasaki, Suzuki, 2211 Scooterworks, Motorcycle magazine and Power Wheels magazine were raffled off to lucky mallgoers who came to the Spyder Activity Area.
