THE majestic sights of Sandari Batulao were recently captured by photography hobbyists as they trooped to the mountainside township in Nasugbu, to learn the basics of photography under the tutelage of Makati Camera Club President Pet Salvador.Dubbed as “Photography 101,” the basic photography workshop was designed to teach participants the basics of operating a digital SLR camera as well as practical photography tips and tricks to hone their skills. The whole-day workshop started with a morning lecture where Salvador discussed the objectives of photography, camera controls, exposure, mood or white balance, different kinds of lenses, proper use of a camera, and types of composition.
After a hearty lunch at the View Deck, the participants set out for an actual shoot where they readily applied everything they learned during the lecture. And with the myriad of sights to choose from, such as the panoramic vistas of Mount Batulao and Mount Talamitam, the colorful growth of trees and flowering plants all around the property, and the lively teeming of guests present for the various activities at Sandari that weekend, the participants eagerly clicked away to immortalize their chosen subjects with their camera.
A critique session followed where the photographers presented the fruits of their two-hour shoot to which Salvador along with the rest of the workshop participants offered their constructive criticisms. The day ended with the awarding of the Best Photo to Ysabella Cainglet, who was able to beautifully capture something as simple as one of the clover leaf-framed manhole covers at Sandari, turning into a striking work of art.
This photography workshop is among the many exciting activities of the Sandari Summer Adventure, a three-month long summer extravaganza made up of fun, nature-oriented events for families and outdoor enthusiasts at the mountainside township of Sandari Batulao.
Set within 800 hectares of lush greens and undulating hills at the foot of Mount Batulao, Sandari is envisioned to be a mountainside self-sustaining community where residents and guests experience a laidback lifestyle marked by a genuine respect for the quiet life and the natural environment. The developer, Citystate Properties and Management Corp., is headed by Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua and his Singaporean partners.
Located at Km77, Batulao, Nasugbu, Batangas, and 10 minutes away from Metro Tagaytay, along the Nasugbu-Tagaytay Tourism National Highway, Sandari Batulao is just an hour and a half drive from Makati via the South Luzon Expressway, through the Sta. Rosa Exit.
