COOL down the summer’s high temperature with novel tea concoctions and refreshing drinks from the newest concept store in town, FruiTeaMix. With a variety of tea-based beverages as its main offerings, you will absolutely change the way you enjoy your cup of tea.

“FruiTeaMix is a local concept. But we get all our ingredients plus the training from Taiwan,” shares Khatrine Tiu, owner of FruiTeaMix.

What makes it different from other teashops?

It’s in the variety the store offers, which is not limited only to teas, according to Tiu’s sister and coowner, Krystel Cokeyeng. “We also have snacks to complement our beverages and that makes it appealing to customers of all ages,” she explains.

Since milk tea is famous in Asian countries, especially Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, the sister-partners decided to bring it to the Philippines so that the local market could also enjoy the beverages. “The market has shown a liking toward the concept and, of course, an appreciation for the taste of our drinks,” Tiu says of the reception they have enjoyed since the store’s soft launch in April.

FruiTeaMix has a wide array of tea variants—from milk tea to fruit tea to freshly brewed tea. For those who don’t drink tea, they have different fruity juices, crushed ice and fruity Yakult drinks to choose from.

 Since Filipinos have long and ongoing love affair with the health drink Yakult, the owners have chosen to offer it combined with fruity juices for the enjoyment of kids and the young-at-heart.

Health-conscious customers were also considered by the sister-business partners when they put up FruiTeaMix. Thus, they get to choose their preferred sugar level for their drinks. The sweetness levels range from no sugar (0 percent sugar), less sweet (50 percent sugar) and standard (100 percent sugar).

Applicable to all cold drinks, customers can choose an add-on for free, such as pearl, coco jelly (or nata de coco), jelly strips, egg pudding, grass jelly, red beans or black bricks. Per additional add-on, P15 is charged. Ice levels can also be specified: more ice, less ice, and zero or no ice.

Milk tea and freshly brewed tea can also be ordered hot. For consistent superb taste and quality, a loose-leaf pack is used only once per drink. The staff is strictly advised to throw each pack after use.
