THE state-run Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) is hiring registered nurses to provide what it termed as “personalized customer care” for members when they seek treatment at hospitals.
PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eduardo Banzon said the nurses will be part of the firm’s Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff (CARES), receiving about P15,000 a month with health-insurance coverage.
“We expect them to be totally customer-focused, passionate about results, and highly resourceful,” Banzon said.
Banzon said their nurses will help ensure that PhilHealth members and their dependents on documentary requirements so they can avail of the benefits due them, and lessen the need for them to return to hospitals for benefit claims.
“We’ve chosen to recruit nurses not only because they’ve been trained to provide care for patients, but also we recognize that many nurses are having extreme difficulty obtaining any gainful employment,” Banzon said.
He said at least 530 nurses will be initially deployed starting next month, after PhilHealth completes the recruitment and training processes. “We are absolutely committed to care for every PhilHealth member and his or her qualified dependent,” Banzon stressed.
He said the CARES nurses will also help encourage non-members to enlist with PhilHealth, and facilitate payment of insurance premiums through the hospitals.
A PhilHealth statement said that nurses who want to join CARES have until February 14 to apply online. They may email their resumes to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it under the subject heading “PhilHealth CARES Application.”
