CONDOMINIUM developer SM Development Corp. (SMDC) claimed the top spot in terms of units sold in Metro Manila during the second half of 2011, based on data from Colliers International Philippines.
In a statement, SMDC said it captured 24 percent of the 25,000 condominium units sold in Metro Manila from July to December. This translates No. 1 in this property survey since July 2009.
“This trend continues for the entire 2011, where the Metro Manila condominium market was characterized by strong competition as approximately 145 residential towers, more or less 50,000 units, were launched,” the company said.
The builder added that it will be launching new projects in Makati, Bicutan, Pasay, Quezon City, Mandaluyong and Taguig. It will also be building expansion towers for Jazz Residences in Makati, Wind Residences in Tagaytay, and Field Residences in Sucat, Parañaque.
SMDC reported earlier that net income in the nine months to September last year rose by more than half to P3.1 billion as realized revenues from real-estate operations jumped 86 percent to P11.3 billion. SMDC said it launched 7,900 residential units during the nine-month period.
Shares of the builder declined 0.56 percent to P7.11 each on Tuesday, giving it a market value of P59.9 billion.
