ETON Properties Philippines Inc., the listed property developer of billionaire Lucio Tan, remains bullish on the office space segment amid continued strong demand from business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.
In a statement, Eton president and chief operating officer Danilo Ignacio said the company expects the two additional BPO buildings in its Eton Centris mixed-use development in Quezon City to be “preleased” before completion by end of 2012.
“The company’s largest contributor of recurring income remains to be office space particularly BPO space, that is, especially with the rising demand for BPO talent in northern Metro Manila where most of Eton’s BPO developments are located,” Ignacio noted.
The first two office buildings in Eton Centris have been fully leased out, the company said earlier. Eton also developed Cyberpod Corinthian in Ortigas Center where a cluster of three fully leased four-story BPO buildings with a total space of 25,589 square meters had been constructed and fully leased.
The builder reported that net income in the six months to June rose by a tenth to P417.9 million as revenues reach P2.62 billion, up 37 percent. Eton has already launched 43 projects since it started operations four years ago.
Shares of the company declined 0.92 percent to P3.22 each on Thursday.
