BUSINESS process outsourcing firm NorthGateArinso Inc. expects its Philippine operations base to form half of the sources of revenue for Asia-Pacific region, its newly promoted country manager said.
Hans Montenegro told reporters that the €5-million target for the Philippines beginning in the firm’s fiscal year in May form half of the total expected revenues from the Asia-Pacific region.
At mid-market rates of P62.53 to €1, this would mean that Montenegro’s company, which provides payroll services to other firms, expects a revenue of P312.65 million by the end of April next year.
Montenegro said the company has ramped up its operations after absorbing the 25 local staff of the HR division of Cincinnati-based Convergys Corp.
“We kept the Convergys’s presence in the fourth floor and because we’re getting bigger, we leased the floor below us,” he said adding that by doing so NorthGateArinso, which began in the Philippines in 2004, has doubled its floor space to 6,000 square meters at the Eton Cyberpod Corinthian in Ortigas, Pasig City.
Currently, the company has 500 employees and Montenegro said they expect to double this by the end of the current fiscal year.
Last year, when Montenegro was still just director for business consulting, he told reporters they had 300 workers.
He said while they are aggressively tapping the local market, by winning clients like LBC, Makati Medical Center, Chinabank, and the local operations of Zuellig Corp., the main revenue source of the company are still foreign clients.
He said they target 60 local clients with 20 each being handled by the firm’s three sales agents.
Still, Montenegro said they expect to move further in the public sector segment after having been tapped by the United States Agency for International Development to automate the internal operations of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Securing an implementation fee of $300,000, NorthGateArinso was able to implement the payroll for the BIR’s 4,000 to 5,000 employees nationwide.
Montenegro said they will implement other modules like the tax agency’s 201 database in the coming months.
He said they expect the 10-month project to be finished before the year ends.
These are recurring revenue sources that can help us steadily achieve our targets, Montenegro said.
