THE increase in Ethernet connections to customers has pushed e-Meralco Ventures Inc.’s (e-MVI) net income to increase by 12.8 percent to P97 million in the third quarter of the year from P86 million in the same period a year ago.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), e-MVI—the information and communication technology arm of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) recorded a 7.1-percent increase in gross revenues in the third quarter amounting to P241 million from P225 million a year ago.

LOCAL food-service chain Mang Inasal Philippines Inc. is following the footsteps of listed homegrown giant Jollibee Foods Corp., disclosing that it may conduct an initial public offering during the latter part of next year to more than double its stores to 500 by 2012.

In a chance interview over the weekend, Mang Inasal chairman and chief executive officer Edgar Sia II explained that the move will support a new growth strategy focused on company-owned stores to balance its current franchise-oriented model.
