CONGLOMERATE San Miguel Corp. (SMC) is set to finalize a deal to sell a significant stake in its listed food processing unit, a top company official said on Tuesday. San Miguel Pure Foods Co. Inc. president Francisco S. Alejo III said the company is currently evaluating several proposals. “Talks are ongoing, as there are so many interested parties, [but] I think [a deal] is going to be [closed] soon,” said the company executive. Up for sale is 40 percent of Purefoods, as SMC would still like continue holding the majority stake. |

IGNORANCE of the law—and the rules—excuses no one. This is a tough policy to follow especially where, apart from the thousands of laws and statutes, there are volumes and volumes of rules and regulations. For every law, one can assume there is at least one rule corresponding to it.
