SECURITY Bank Corp. (SBC) held its second economic forum for the year in Makati which tackled “Perspectives on the Philippine Economy: Challenges and Opportunities Amidst Turbulent Times.”

Keynote speaker Dr. Jay H. Bryson, Ph.D, managing director and global economist at Wells Fargo Securities, presented an analysis on financial markets and macroeconomic developments in the major economies of the world.  Dr. Bryson, a sought-after speaker who has articles published in academic and popular economic journals, is also a regular resource specialist on global economics for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, CNBC and Bloomberg TV.

Sharing their views together with Dr. Bryson were John Forbes, director of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines as representative of the Joint Foreign Business Chambers in the Philippines, and Antonio Jose Periquet, economist and former country strategist of Deutsche Regis Partners, who shared valuable insights from the business sector.

“This forum is really meant to benefit our clients more so in the aspect of assessing and their short- and long-term business strategies as against the challenges and opportunities facing the global markets especially with even some of the world’s larger economies now experiencing fiscal challenges sending shock waves across continents,” said SBC President and CEO Alberto Villarosa.

Security Bank organizes this regular event in line with its continuing program to provide relevant business analysis and economic forecasts to its valued clients from the corporate, treasury, investment, commercial and retail banking segments.

Over 400 bank clients composed of the country’s top decision-makers from across different industries attended the much-awaited event.
