HER life story is typically Cinderella-inspired. Many years ago, she was living in a shanty that was stationed along the railroad tracks somewhere in the depressed area of Makati.
She was not exceptionally beautiful but she had spunk and grit and the awe-inspiring stamina and determination of a young woman from the slums who wanted to escape the depressing world of poverty and make something out of the drudgery that predominantly characterized her appalling existence.
Admittedly, it was not an easy climb to stardom. She experienced truckloads of rejection and humiliation before she was able to make a slow agonizing climb to the kind of world that she had always hankered for and wildly envisioned to become an integral part of.
Many years hence, she is no longer the plump starlet who dreamed of becoming a big glamorous star but is fabulously sophisticated and liquid enough to produce her own movies and star in them as well. That was the good side.
The downside though is not something that she has always wanted to dwell on or talk about that often for she had veritably gone through “hell” just to achieve the enviable kind of liquidity that she now possesses. Imagine, from the annoying and nauseating smell of the slums she had practically inhabited all her young life, she now lives in a house posh and large enough to qualify as a mansion.
Her jewelry collection, too, rivals even those of the impressive jewels that Jinkee Pacquiao wears with such pride and total self-possession.
Ironically, despite the impressive wealth that she now possesses, she is hopelessly lonely and perpetually on the look out for the elusive kind of man that would make her fulfilled and happy.
Sadly though, men of the stripe that she’s hankering for appears to be scarce or even non-existent. For one, she’s not that young anymore and most men of today are looking for young and desirable women who would fit into the mold of the young Lolita.
Sadly though, youth has ignominiously passed her by and no amount of dieting or paying the most expensive skin care expert a visit could give her back the kind of youth that she used to have.
Inasmuch as men are still attracted to her, but not to the point of having a fulfilling lifetime relationship that’s not based on carnal needs alone.
It’s sad but that’s how the cookie crumbles. She had always craved for opulence and all the luxury in the world and she had it, but the one elusive thing that she craves for—an ideal relationship with the man of her dreams, seems to be a remote possibility. But that’s life. No one is capable of having a perfect life. At one point, you would still hanker for something unattainable and beyond your grasp.
Time has passed her by
SOME 15 years ago, emptiness was an alien commodity for she was at her prime and was being wooed by the most elusive bachelors in town.
At one point, the son of an opulent actor-politician offered marriage but her mind was too preoccupied with a thousand and one things, she begged off gracefully. Since she was flawlessly beautiful, a famed movie outfit offered to have her star in a remake of an old film of a bombshell of the 1970s but the idea was abhorrent to her and too preposterous, she nixed the offer immediately.
Today, she is still beautiful but not in the way she appealingly was many years ago.
For one, the svelte figure is now fast wasting away into unappetizing fats making her look a lot older than her biological age.
Also, men are no longer looking with lust in their eyes but at one point with indifference that borders on aversion. Even the man that she used to have an ideal live-in relationship with has left her to be with another woman who’s not even half as beautiful as she was some 10 years ago.
Well-meaning friends would assiduously advise her to go on a diet but she is not half as disciplined as the other actress she is co-starring with in a soap these days who’s been able to get rid of the unwanted poundage in barely two months.
Indeed, she now is a pathetic figure with her too fleshy frame that tends to make most men look evasively at the opposite direction.
Unlimited surprises and revelations in newest season of ‘Pinoy Big Brother’
THE fourth and the latest season of Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited offers a fresh set of surprises and twists that is guaranteed to keep televiewers glued to their seats as the new addition to the show. Newbies Robi Domingo and Martin Concio will keep them assiduously entertained, apart from the original hosts Toni Gonzaga and Bianca Gonzales.
The newly furnished PBB House, along with the new set of housemates will finally be revealed in PBB Unlimited: The Big Fiesta on October 29.
“This is definitely going to be a lot better than the last one,” says Toni. “Compared to the past seasons, I strongly believe that this is PBB’s grandest season.” The season that’s slated to detonate soon guarantees the ultimate experience for viewers and housemates as well with its mixture of fun and drama that is the trademark of the engagingly phenomenal reality show.
The show promises to offer an unlimited combination of housemates, blow-by-blow updates, along with unlimited experiences and grandiose possibilities. With regard to the additional hosts, the program is both a challenge and a dream come true.
Robi, an alumnus and the second placer no less of PBB Teen Edition Plus in 2008, is excited to return to the program, not as a housemate any longer but as regular host, a job that he has definitely coveted and hankered for.
“It feels really great!” he says oozing excitement. “Being one of the housemates before, I feel that I could possibly relate to their experiences and tell it to the viewers.”
On his part, former Music Update Live host Concio says, “I’ve been a big fan since the series started, back during the season where Sam Milby was introduced. I’ve really followed every season ardently and now that I have become a part of the show, my excitement knows no bound.”
Bianca, on her part, feels mixed emotions and is now looking forward to work with the same people she has worked with since PBB Teen Edition.
“It’s great to be a part of PBB mainly because I, Toni, and even the whole production staff grew up with the show,” she musingly states.
At any rate, the local version of the successful international TV franchise from Endemol noted a record-busting 30,789 auditionees in its auditions between March and September of this year and drew a rich pool of poignant accounts from the hopefuls who aspired to enter the PBB house.

In this special giving back series, Big Brother will also lend a helping hand to those aspirants who veritably need aid.

Showbiz aficionados were visibly appalled, they still are, when news about this intelligent and sophisticated lady’s involvement with this supposedly good-for-nothing guy had started circulating in the business. Some of them have made utterly derogatory comments to the effect that her taste in men seems to be getting worse as time goes by.
More than a year ago, eyebrows were raised when she had this shocking relationship with this good actor who was admittedly a lot younger than she was.
When their relationship cooled, the skeptics and the cynics kind of approved her intense closeness with this movie and TV director who is famous for his controversial affairs with women.
But when talks began circulating around the business that she is purportedly ensnared with this good for nothing singer-actor who is famous for his two-timing ways with women, eyebrows have been raised from Batanes to Tawi-tawi.
“Her taste with men is progressively becoming horrible as time goes by,” so says a colleague in the business. “It’s common knowledge that this guy she’s presently enamored with is nothing but a two-timing gigolo who’s after some privileges that he can extort from the faggots and women he gets to have an intimate relationship with. He’s using his endowments, if you know what I’m hinting at, for personal gains.”
“Honestly, I find him a repulsive user and an unfeeling bastard as well,” our friend says with palpable derision.
