PILGRIMS of Green Faith Travels will visit the San Sebastian Cathedral and four other churches in Tarlac City on April 18 for its third healing pilgrimage to the province as the Catholic faithful rejoice in the resurrection of their savior and healer, Jesus Christ.
Highlighting the pilgrimage is the veneration of the relic of the True Cross of Christ right after the Holy Mass in honor of the Blessed Mother at the Church of the Risen Christ of Monasterio de Tarlac.
Pilgrims will have the opportunity to pray, meditate and reflect before the sacred relic—the only one of its kind in Asia—contained in a silver reliquary and enshrined in 2007 at the monastic ground of the Servants of the Risen Christ community at the Mount of Resurrection, Eco-Tourism Park, in Barangay Lubigan, San Jose.
Part of the features of the monastery of the Servants of the Risen Christ community is the 30-foot statue of the Risen Christ, which stands on a hill overlooking the plains and slopes of Tarlac.
The image is likened to the 98-feet-tall Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Now on its fourth year, Green Faith Travels is composed of Catholic Church servants whose apostolate work is organizing spiritual pilgrimages and travels that lead pilgrims to spiritual healing and rejuvenation of faith.
Pilgrims will also visit the following churches in Tarlac City: San Sebastian Cathedral and the parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes at Barangay Central in Hacienda Luisita, which was patterned after the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France; Saint Michael the Archangel; Saint Raphael the Archangel; and San Lorenzo Ruiz.
Deadline for registration is on or before March 31. Pilgrims will get their seat assignments on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meanwhile, Green Faith Travels now accepts reservation for its small-group travel to honor San Isidro Labrador on his feast day and join the celebration of Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon, on May 15. Visit Green Faith Travels on Facebook.
