LEARN how to thrive in a globalized market setting from three of the country’s top business executives at the Franchise Asia Philippines (FAP) 2015 CEO Forum set on June 10 and 11 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
Chan Kok Bin, chairman and CEO of CMG Retail Inc. and Charter International Inc.; Francis Glenn Yu, CFE, president and CEO of Seaoil Phils.; and Vicente L. Gregorio, EVP and CEO of Shakey’s, will share valuable inputs on how local brands can withstand stiff competition from foreign companies, based on the personal experiences.
“These three executives and the homegrown companies they manage are concrete examples that Filipino brands have what it takes to flourish even in the face of tough competition from established and bigger foreign brands. Their thoughts and insights are important for local entrepreneurs, as they prepare for the entry of more foreign brands,” FAP 2015 overall Chairman Robert F. Trota, president and CEO of Max’s Group Inc., emphasized.
Through Chan’s able leadership, CMG Retail Inc. has become one of the leading fashion retailers in the Philippines with more than 100 stand-alone concept stores nationwide, bringing to the Filipino consumers quality footwear brands: CLN, CMG, So Fab and Staccato. He also leads the growth of Charter International Inc., which carries the popular lady’s footwear brands: Figlia, Figliarina, Marie Nicole, Shubizz and Sorores.
Yu, on the other hand, steered SeaOil into its current stature as the leading and largest independent fuel company in the country. He is regarded by everyone in the organization as the innovative, God-centered and family-loving leader who encourages employees to strive for excellence and live with integrity, both in their personal and professional dealings.
Gregorio, meanwhile, has been guiding Shakey’s through these tough times when several local and foreign pizza brands have been fighting hard to get a slice of the Philippine market. He has been able to elevate Shakey’s position in the food industry and create a launch pad, which helped the company garner double-digit growth over the last 11 years.
The “CEO Forum: Business Leadership and Strategies Amidst Globalization” is one of the highlights of the International Franchise Conference, a component of the four-in-one Franchise Asia Philippines 2015 slated from June 10 to 14.
Trota said the objective of the forum is to give executives of Philippine brands fresh perspectives and ideas on how they can shake off competition amid the influx of foreign brands and how they can take advantage of the opportunities presented by an Integrated Global Economy.
“The CEOs will share their thoughts, insights and outlook on how to get ahead of the competition, to maximize opportunities, unleash potentials and succeed in today’s increasingly globalized world,” he stressed.
