FORD Philippines on Tuesday announced record sales in June, with retail sales rising 10 percent year-over-year to 1,870 units.
The EcoSport, Ranger and Explorer models continued to enjoy robust market demand, the company said in a statement.
These models, said Ford, remain the volume sellers, at least for the meantime, while Ford is currently transitioning to the all-new Everest, one of its best-selling nameplates. The all-new Everest is being eyed for introduction in September.
Sales in June capped an all-time record first-half performance for Ford, with sales increasing 18 percent to 10,427 units.
The segment-defining Ranger continues to be Ford’s top-selling model in the Philippines. Its June sales rose 26 percent year-over-year to 755 units.
The Ranger has remained the country’s best-selling pickup truck this year, with sales jumping 32 percent to 4,327 units. Ranger was the best-selling pickup in the Philippines in 2014.
The popular EcoSport delivered its best month since being launched in the Philippines last year, with retail sales rising 59 percent year-over-year to 767 units. Year-to-date sales of the compact SUV now total 4,133 units, making EcoSport Ford’s second best-seller.
The Ford Explorer recorded sales that increased 24 percent year-over-year to 110 units.
The sporty Fiesta delivered sales of 117 units in June.
The new Ford Mustang achieved retail sales of 48 units during its second month of deliveries.
Ford continues its nationwide dealership expansion with the opening of Ford Santa Rosa and Ford Ormoc in July, bringing the number of authorized dealers to 38 locations.
Ford remains on track to open 40 dealerships by the end of the year.
“Our ongoing dealership expansion is helping to better serve our growing base of customer across the country, and ensure the very best customer and ownership experience with convenience, accessibility and world-class service,” said Kay Hart, managing director of Ford Philippines.
