ESET Llc. forecasts the Philippines’s digital security market growth rate to remain flat at 9 percent year-on-year for the next three years.
Raymond Latonio, Eset regional channel manager for Asia Pacific, told the BusinessMirror that the company’s conservative growth rate would stay at such rate despite the higher growth of Internet usage worldwide. However, Latonio said such growth in usage would see businesses and consumers becoming more attractive targets for malicious Internet threats.
Hence, “Eset will continue to be available in the Philippine security market space and will continuously develop new products to improve existing ones such as Eset’s new business product lines.”
Eset products are exclusively distributed by Valueline Systems and Solutions Corp. and its distribution channel in the Philippines.
The cybersecurity-solutions developer’s Philippine revenues grew by 31 percent last year, according to Latonio. As of the first quarter of 2015, Eset’s revenue in the Philippines has already grown by 89 percent compared to the same period in 2014, he added.
Latonio said on April 27 they would launch new retail products by the end of the year. He, however, declined to provide details.
“At the moment, we do not have any products available for the iOS. However, we do have Eset cybersecurity that is compatible with the Mac OS platforms and our mobile product, Eset Mobile Security, which works well for Android devices. Maybe in the future we will develop something for the IOS but as of now, there are no immediate plans to develop Eset for iOS.”
The company recently released its “Remote Administrator” security solution, which allows administrators to oversee the entire network, including workstations, servers and smartphones from a single point.
“It has been designed to be light on your system. It was also redesigned by IT [information-technology] professionals with the needs of fellow IT professionals in mind. We’ve made the product easy to work with our fresh ‘at-a-glance’ GUI [Graphic User Interface],” Latonio said. According to him, Remote Administrator is easy to manage “as it can be accessed anywhere via a Web console.”
It is also easy to configure and makes it possible “to drill down to every area and adjust the settings according to user requirements,” he explained. In terms of product costing, Eset offers the market “unparalleled value in terms of its new products and services,” Latonio said.
“With products like Eset, we are able to provide solutions to our customers that help protect them from potential cyber threats.”
