THE Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) announces the holding of a techno-forum on Emergency Food Reserve (EFR) on May 28, 8 a.m. at its Metrology building’s conference room, DOST compound, General Santos Avenue, Bicutan, Taguig City.
EFR: Sagip Nutri-Flour is made from choice crops, like cassava, camote, malunggay and mongo. It is nutritious and filling, and ready-to-use, needs no cooking/heating, making it ideal as a relief food during calamities or disasters. The technology can also be a promising post-calamity measure for livelihood/income-generating opportunities. The technology is now ready for transfer to prospective adopters—such as institutions and humanitarian organizations, especially those concerned with disaster mitigation and management, livelihood, and food security of rural communities.
This techno-forum hopes to facilitate its eventual transfer to various stakeholders. Those interested to attend the forum may contact. Teresa Herrera at e-mail tsd@itdi.dost.gov.ph
Registration is free.
