THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has lauded the concessions which the Philippines gained following the conclusion of the Philippines- European Free Trade Association (Efta) free-trade agreement, especially in agriculture and services.
At a news conference on Monday Trade Undersecretary Ceferino S. Rodolfo said Efta member-countries, composed of Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland will impose zero-percent duty on nonagricultural market access and fisheries.
The Philippines, he said, secured a more favorable schedule for tariff concessions, having clinched a phased reduction, phased elimination and exclusion list from Efta.
