Your golf shoes are arguably the most important piece of golf equipment that you own. Think about it. There is nothing that you use as much on the golf course as soon as you lace them up. A golfer walks over eight kilometers in a round of golf. An ill-fitting pair will hurt you more than you realize in the course of a round.
Ecco is a relative newcomer when it comes to golf shoes. The company was founded in 1963 by Karl Toosbuy, in Bredebro, Denmark. The company began with only the production of footwear, but has since expanded into leather production, as well as accessories and small leather goods.
Ecco shot to fame when Freddy Couples wore a pair of their hybrid-golf shoes at the Masters sans socks performed admirably in them. Today, all manufacturers have spikeless models in their line but nothing fits quite an Ecco.
I got my first pair just recently from Transview Golf and they changed my attitude about golf shoes—how they fit and what I demand from them. Let’s just say that I am now more demanding than ever. Ecco’s raised the bar of my expectations.
Besides being extremely comfortable and supportive, the shoes put your feet in an ergonomically correct position that alleviates stress in other parts of the body. I struggle with back pain and the amount of discomfort in my lumbar area after I walk eighteen is often too much to bear.
But that all changed with the Bio Hybrid 2. The shoes were so comfortable and supportive that my next post-round pain was downgraded to minor discomfort. I could scarcely believe it. I played more rounds with it and got similar results.
Credit here goes to the Technical Insole System—a new, ultra-premium insole with silicon printing helps prevent unwanted foot movement during the swing and the Anatomical Last Shape—Developed by scanning the feet of 2,500 athletes to provide ideal levels of support.
The outsole is constructed from TPU—a highly durable, wear-resistant material—and the molded traction bars offer hundreds of traction angles for superb grip. In no instance hus far have I ever felt compromised by the lack of spikes.
If there is one downside to the Ecco Bio Hybrid 2, it is the price. At a hair over P12,000, it is pricey, but not excessively so. I’ve come to like these shoes so much that I went and got myself another pair.
That pretty much says it all.

Ecco does make a comfortable golf shoe, no doubt about it, spent $149 and love them
