AFTER three successful road trips to summer destinations, like Zambales, Boracay and Baler, Caltex Lubricants Philippines held the fourth and final leg of Havoline’s Drive to Protection entitled “Tune Up for the Ultimate Road Trip” campaign on May 23 in Bulacan. Teamed up with the Altis Club of the Philippines was a convoy of more than 50 Havoline-branded cars that made its way to join the 2015 Toyota Fest Philippines (TFP).
Held at the open grounds of the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bulacan, Havoline partnered with TFP to highlight the investment protection benefit of its engine lubricants. “The Toyota Fest is the perfect place for our team to showcase the protect-your-investment benefit of Havoline because at this event, we met with various car enthusiasts who obviously do what it takes to protect their precious Toyota cars,” said Michelle Sayat, marketing manager.
Caltex Lubricant Philippines put up a product display booth and highlighted different varieties of engine lubricants available to the public—packaged with change oil maintenance offered at a discounted rate. “Taking part in this annual event is such an experience for us. Our campaign’s goal is to let the people know how important it is to keep your car in its best shape so you can focus on your journey and enjoy a smooth, hassle-free and worry-free drive. And that we are always here to keep things easier for motorists and better for their cars.
Our campaign may end with this last leg, but we know that we taught people how vital it is to have a well-maintained car so they can have their ultimate road trip experience,” Sayat added. Meanwhile, around 400 Toyota vehicles representing various contingents from specific models, variants and period, transformed the Philippine Arena open parking space into a large-scale auto show. True to its aim of uniting enthusiasts, the 2015 TFP celebrated the passion for the popular marque. From well-known modern and contemporary vehicles—sedans, utility vehicles of all types, sports coupes and off-roaders to the classics and old schools, decorated the event and delighted exhibitors and guests alike. It was an array of modification, restoration and unique style stemmed from hard work and enthusiasm but what garnered most of the attention was the formation of Toyota classics and old-school cars.
These were the 1960s Sports 800 coupe, Toyota 1000, or better known as Publica, and fourth-generation Corolla, all well-kept and in impeccable form. Side by side were the first generation Corolla and the TE71 series Levin lift back, both in great shape, as well. There was also the third-generation Celica (US version)—
untouched and in prime condition. Being a fervent owner of a restored and modified Toyota show car, this writer appreciated the efforts and attention to detail showcased by the owners of the prized possessions.
Undoubtedly, the 2015 TFP was a success in terms of fulfilling its objective and pulling off a great show. And with the huge attendance, it was a testament of the unyielding support of Toyota followers.
