A study by Dell Inc. conducted with over 2,500 respondents from 11 countries globally highlights measurable business improvements as a result of future-ready information-technology adoption. The adoption, according to Dell, was tracked over a three-year period from 2012 to 2015. The most future-ready organizations in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), but which exclude the Philippines, cite the following benefits:
- Over 50-percent increase in customer satisfaction, customer retention and growth in revenue from new products
- More than 40-percent increase in revenue or sales and bookings, on-time customer delivery, regulatory compliance, reduction in time to market for new products and services, as well as new customer acquisition
- Improved employee productivity by 39 percent
According to Dell, future-ready enterprises can be divided into four categories: current focused, future aware, future focused and future creators.
“Future creators outperformed their current focused peers in key performance indicators over the past three years,” Dell said in a statement, citing the International Data Corp. (IDC) as the source of classification. In the statement, IDC has classed 16 percent of all companies as current focused; 32 percent, future aware; one-third, future focused, while 18 percent as future creators.
“Future creators are the most future-ready enterprises who lead with agile platforms and big data, while current focused organizations are defined as those that are still focused on traditional IT or still at the beginning of their technology journey,” Dell explained. “The Future Ready Enterprise Index has shown that the most future-ready organizations are able to successfully promote agility, scalability and innovation in their business through the adoption of converged infrastructures, cloud, big data and analytics solutions.”
